Over 3, individual artworks from schools across the state participated in the Scholastic Art Awards — Wisconsin in In awards ceremonies on February 14, student artists will be awarded individual Gold Keys which forwards them on to the National Scholastic Art Awards Competition, and Silver Keys, which allows for statewide recognition of their work. The work of all Gold Key nominees selected this year will be submitted for judging on the national level. If selected, the work will be sent to New York to be exhibited for year in the National Exhibition. Judging is based on craftsmanship, use of media and creativity. Students also qualify for recognition for their contribution to the local exhibit with silver key recognition certificate.
All recipients will be honored with a certificate and pin signifying the type of nomination they are awarded. The Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts is the primary sponsor of the Hawaii regional competition, awards ceremony and exhibition.Award winners will be displayed as part of The Scholastic Art Awards exhibition, on view February 7 through April 12, in the public corridor of the Museum.
